Day 146

Here's a very quick composite of the house I plan on renting, along with the view from most of the rooms in the house. It's on a corner lot with wonderful views of the Long Island Sound. It will be a big change for me, but a long awaited one.

Day 145

The saga continues......
I had to go back to where I saw the baby fawn 2 days ago to see if he was okay. To my surprise he was still there in a bush 3 feet off the side of the busy road. I was told by a friend that the mother will typically leave the baby in a bush alone. The Wildlife in Crisis site said that " often does will not return to their fawns until well after dark."
It was almost dark when I saw it so I grabbed a few shots then left it alone so the doe would return without fear.
I used a really high iso to try to get a half way decent shot. This is best I could do.
Interesting that the Animal Control told me I could have just picked it up and moved it, even cuddled it. However I did a search and found that the Wildlife in Crisis site said "Do not touch the fawn! This could cause the mother to reject it. If the fawn has already been "handled", wipe the fawn off with a clean towel rubbed with dirt, put on a clean pair of gloves, and return the fawn to the site of origin.
Good call by my daughter Kathryn, who originally told us not to touch it.

Day 144

I made several attempts at doing a sketch to no avail. I deleted my previous post because I hated it and knew it would be a thorn in my side for the rest of the project. I used a photo of my daughter and tried a different tutorial found here
http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/jennifer/photo-to-sketch.html
to make this sketch very easily.

Day 143

While driving down a busy road my daughter Kathryn and I saw this little guy crossing the street. I pulled over , grabbed my camera and started shooting. We started to get nervous for him because he crossed the road 4 times, while we were there.
We saw the mother sitting in the wood, probably trying to get her strength back, we think he was only a couple hours old.
My daughter stayed at the top of the hill to get the oncoming cars to slow down because they couldn't see us from around the curve in the road. I stayed with the little guy and soon realized, he was following me. He kept rubbing up against my legs . My daughter said "He thinks you're his Mom !" Once I realized that, I climbed down the rocks and started to make my way into the woods, and he followed me. As we got deeper in towards where the Mom was he took off on his own.
What an exciting day, I have never seen a fawn before.

Check out my flickr page for a few more shots http://www.flickr.com/photos/bettywisse/

Well I tried using a tutorial today to make this photo look like a sketch, but I just couldn't follow it near the end, I think I really needed a Pad to write on. So I found another tutorial here
http://tutorialseeker.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2279
that was suppose to make the photo look like "Sin City"

Day 141

Glad Li'l Dude found this red ball to play with, perfect for my photo today !

My daughter Kristi and her friend Erin let me photograph them today. I got lots of pretty shots of them but I liked this one for some reason. I liked the playfulness of it.

Day 139

My daughter Kristi let me get a few shots of her before I went out tonight. Got home too late to get this posted before midnight.

I used a texture called "crackle love flickr" by KimKlassen on this dogwood flower.
I also worked the colors a bit in photoshop, and aged it some with an action.

Day 137

Another bottle and shadow. I tried playing around with shadows and was able to create 2 of them with the two lights I was using. The bottle is actually a royal blue and the background was white. I played around in photoshop to get the look I wanted. Thanks to "telzey" for the texture.

Day 136

Sunrise at Cape Cod. The last day of my workshop with Bryan Peterson AND Kathleen Clemmons. What an awesome 3 days we had. I will catch up on everyone's streams as soon as I can. Too many days without internet !

Day 131

Since I've been taking Dude to the dog park so often I thought I would bring my camera and get some photos of some of the wonderful dogs that go there. The 2 Great Danes were fun to watch, the spotted one's name is Bongo and the other one's name is Yusuke. The Whippet's name is Brazil.
The funny thing about dog parks is that people know you by your dog's name not your own.

Day 130

I was driving home to make a quick dinner dreading that I would also have to figure out what to take for my photo today. I stopped on a corner and shot these in a neighbor's yard, I really liked everything that was going on behind the flower the most.

Day 129

After our Mothers Day Lunch we took Dude to the dog park. On the way home I sat in the front passenger seat to get some shots of him with his head out the window. He was kind of tired so I didn't get too many, I liked this one the best.

Day 128

Last night as I was walking around town with my daughter Kathryn we came upon these balloons duct taped to a wall. I noticed they were for a wine party that was well over. I couldn't resist "borrowing" them for today's photo.
My idea was to get them both to jump individually and that I would clone them out and place them in clouds.
When I got home tonight I had no power or internet. So I decided just to post the out takes, one of each of them.
I will save the ones of the good jumps for future use.
I don't know if the internet will last long, I just wanted to beat the midnight deadline, phew !

Day 127

This is the closest I got to missing my photo of the day. I went out this morning without my camera and got home at 11:52. I ran around the house to find something to photograph and found this little kerosene lamp, and set it up on my kitchen counter. I was lucky to get some of the lights reflecting in the window showing up as little bokeh circles. There were only 2 so I had to clone 1 to make it more pleasing to me. I also used the flame from 2 shots just for fun.
My photo was done with 3 minutes to spare :-)

Day 123

OMG I almost missed today! My daughter called me and said "I don't see your picture today, you only have 45 minutes left."
Fortunately I just finished working on it and was trying to post it.
I bought these tiny cherry tomatoes today which were perfect for the tiny colander I already had.

Day 122

I asked my daughter to put on crazy socks and stand on a tree stump for today's photo. After she and her friend stopped laughing at me, she said "I'll do something but I don't have any crazy socks." She came downstairs with her Gucci shoes. This is what we came up with.

Day 121

Today was Raya's 1st Birthday party! What a beautiful baby she is.
