Day 169

Don't ask what I was thinking.... this is actually 2 Target light up buttons and some Christmas ribbon I found in a box I was sorting. It's almost midnight and this is all I got.

Day 56

I set the flower in a 3 sided white poster board box and used one flash set to full power, camera left. I set the exposure manually to get a long shutter speed so I could zoom in to get this effect. I had the flash go off once when zoomed out and once again when I zoomed in on the flower in the same frame. I had to play around for quite awhile until I got the effect I was looking for.

Day 1, 2010

I started out with a $1.00 plastic snowflake and placed it on black granite (my bar actually),
then used a slow shutter speed of 1/8 sec. My iso was way up there at 3200. I used my 24-105mm lens and zoomed in and out until I got something I thought would work.
In CS3 I layered a semi-sharp photo of the snowflake on top of the zoomed one and made a mask to erase some of the sharp photo. Once that was in place I added a texture that I got here http://shadowhousecreations.blogspot.com/. It now had a yellow tone to it. I played around with hue/saturation until I got this pretty blue, thinking it needed to be a cool color with it being a snowflake .
