Day 174

Another full day of packing and air conditioner only working in parts of the house. Got an estimate of $1500.00 just to fix one of the units, lovely...... 7 days left and I have this huge expense..... ugh ! Anyway I put this silk plant in my lightbox and added some texture by kimklassen to spice it up a bit.

Day 165

On my way out to another awards dinner tonight with the Norwalk Camera Club a bunch of Iris's caught my eye near my driveway. Knowing I wouldn't have time to take photos tonight I shot off a few frames and am happy with this one in square format.
What a crazy year I was awarded "Photographer of the Year" in this club too ! Maybe I should quit while I am ahead.

I used a texture called "crackle love flickr" by KimKlassen on this dogwood flower.
I also worked the colors a bit in photoshop, and aged it some with an action.

Day 130

I was driving home to make a quick dinner dreading that I would also have to figure out what to take for my photo today. I stopped on a corner and shot these in a neighbor's yard, I really liked everything that was going on behind the flower the most.

Another one of my daughter's shoes. This time I placed it in one of my trees in my backyard.

I guess I am sticking with the theme of shoes and flowers, one more pair of my daughter Kristi's shoes.

I had this golden glittery pillow and had this idea to put it behind the chrysanthemum and set my 500mm lens to f/4 to get some pretty bokeh in the background. It was a little harder than I thought to accomplish, because the pillow was too small. This is the result.

I received alot of flowers yesterday for Easter. Some of them got bent while being transported. I don't like to waste things. So I thought, this Gerber Daisy was deserving of at least a photograph before discarding it.

Some items from my bathroom, set up in my lightbox. Still without power in Fairfield. Lucky for me I have a generator giving me power in parts of my house.

Day 56

I set the flower in a 3 sided white poster board box and used one flash set to full power, camera left. I set the exposure manually to get a long shutter speed so I could zoom in to get this effect. I had the flash go off once when zoomed out and once again when I zoomed in on the flower in the same frame. I had to play around for quite awhile until I got the effect I was looking for.
